Send Attachments From Finder via Folder Actions

Send Attachments From Finder via Folder Actions

This hint allows you to drag files to a Finder folder and have them instantly emailed to a pre-configured address, simply by attaching a Folder Action to the folder. It’s a great way to get files off your Desktop and backed up offsite.

Great tip from Mac OS X Hints in 2007 worth a re-link. I use this for Gmail every day, as there’s no better and faster way to get files off your Mac and onto Gmail.

iTunes 10.0.1 Goes Live with Ping Sidebar

Apple released a minor update to iTunes last night, which reaches version 10.0.1 and introduces a new feature for Ping users: the Ping sidebar. The Ping sidebar allows you to always have the updates from the people you follow under control: the “Recent Activity” is a smaller version of the Ping dashboard you’re used to and it displays new purchases, preorders and likes. You can like, comment, preorder and buy from the sidebar itself. Read more

More TV Executives Weigh In on 99-Cent TV Show Rentals

Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman similarly cited the rental pricing as the primary issue, noting that it “doesn’t work” for the media company that owns such cable channels as Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

“The 99-cent rental is not a good price point,” said Viacom Inc. Chief Executive Philippe Dauman at the conference, which was hosted by Goldman Sachs. “It doesn’t work for us.”

Mr. Dauman noted that Viacom, which owns cable networks like Comedy Central and Nickelodeon, invests heavily to produce its content and plans to increase that investment.

“We value our content a lot,” he said. “We don’t think Apple has it quite right yet.”

Also, delays.

HyperDock Brings Windows 7’s Aero Peek to OS X

Having used Windows 7 for some time in the past months (I’m always curious to see whether Windows is getting better or not), I’m particularly impressed by the usefulness of Aero Peek, a feature that allows you to get a quick preview of a program window by simply hovering over its icon in the taskbar. It’s pretty handy and fast at letting you see what you’re about to open.

Well, HyperDock for Mac (released as beta) does just that: it brings Aero Peek functions to OS X through a completely native application that not only works great (I repeat, it’s a first beta) but it manages to combine a handful of other features with window previews, turning out to be a must-have tool for serious Mac users already. Brazilian iPhone Customers Want A Free Bumper

On September 17, Apple’s new iPhone 4 device was finally launched in Brazil. However, everybody was shocked when we realized that we would not be able to claim our rights promised by Apple, because the iPhone 4 Case Program was not available in the Brazilian App Store.

Why do Brazilian customers have no access to iPhone 4 Case Program?

Yeah, Apple: why?

Snowtape 2.0 Released with Background and Scheduled Recordings - 3 Copies Up for Grabs

Snowtape is a beautifully designed Mac application that allows you to listen to online radio stations, and record them as .mp3 files to save on your hard drive for offline access. It’s got a great icon, a delicious UI design (possibly one of the most impressive apps I have on my Mac, design-wise) but most of all just works. It’s one-click listening and recording, and the newly released version 2.0 adds a couple of great features worth considering Snowtape once again. Read more
