iTunes Accounts Hacked by Vietnamese Developer? [Update: Apps Removed]
This is the Books category in the iPhone App Store, and these are the top paid apps in that category. Notice something weird? There’s a developer who has 40 apps (!) in that chart, and all of them are badly coded Vietnamese comics (manga) apps based on stolen intellectual property (Conan, Dragon Ball).
How is this even possible?
Live Messenger App for iPhone Passes 1 Million Downloads in 5 Days
In 5 days, people have downloaded the official Live Messenger app for iPhone more than one million times, Microsoft announced on its official Windows Team Blog.
“While Messenger for iPhone is relatively new, for many connecting with Messenger friends on your mobile phone is not new. In addition to the more than one million iPhone Messenger users, there are over 24 million people who connect with Messenger friends from other mobile phones through a client application, their phone’s browser, or SMS. Along with Messenger Connect, Messenger IM in Hotmail, and the coming integration with Xbox LIVE, the new iPhone app is just one more way that we are bringing Messenger to you across the web and on your phone.”
Microsoft should deeply think about its success in the App Store before even thinking about building an alternative.

Apple Sells 3 Million iPads in 80 Days
Apple has just issued a press release announcing that they’ve sold 3 million iPad units in 80 days and more than 11000 native iPad apps are out in the App Store.
Two weeks ago we reported that 10.000 iPad apps were available in the App Store, and 78% of them were paid applications. As for iPad sales, Apple announced 1 million units sold after 28 days, and 2 million units after 60 days. Sales are growing, and the only word I can think of right now is “impressive”. It’ll be interesting to see what’s going to happen with the iPhone 4 and iPad both out by this holiday season.
Check out the press release after the break.
