Today, Federico posted a review of Weet, his new default twitter client for iPhone. @WeetApp posted a tweet a few minutes ago and they revealed their change log. Seems like a biggie for only a 1.0.1 release. This update was sent to Apple on September 16th, so we can hope Apple will approves it any day. Here is the list of fixes/changes/additions: Read more

Ping: Apple and Facebook Negotiated for 18 Months Over It
Remember Ping? Yeah, that social network thing that launched together with iTunes 10 icon. No wait, it actually launched together with iTunes 10 - I think so.
Anyway, Silicon Alley Insider reports that Apple and Facebook negotiated for at least 18 months over a “music-focused social networking service”, but couldn’t find a deal before Apple decided to let Ping fly with its own wings. Read more
Apple’s Impressive Share Of Mobile Industry Profits [Pie Chart]
Compared to LG, Nokia and other cellphone makers Apple doesn’t sell that many devices. Compared to the same cellphone makers, though, Apple makes way more money. Apple’s got the right strategy: they sell premium products and they release a new iteration once a year. Apple has its own OS and it won’t let the carrier mess with it. Period. Read more
Steve Jobs Interviewed By Police Over iPhone 4 Prototype
We haven’t heard of the “stolen” iPhone 4 prototype story for a while, nor do we have had any updates on the police investigation that is still ongoing. Apple hasn’t commented publicly on the matter since last April, and it’s not that we’re missing the whole headline war to get the latest scoop on Jason Chen and Brian Hogan love affair - we’re just curious to know how this will end.
Macnn is reporting (via CNET) that a number of Apple employees have been interviewed by the police together with Apple CEO himself, Steve Jobs, about the allegedly stolen iPhone prototype. Read more
Mac Users Love Macs. Surprised?
If you bought a Mac, I guess you love it. I wouldn’t be surprised at all to know that you’re deeply in love with your newly bought piece of Ive aluminum. Still, it’s interesting to put these love stories to numbers and see how stats change over time.
The latest American Customer Satisfaction Index survey (via 9to5mac) indicates that, over the past 12 months, Apple computers totaled 78 out of 100, 3 points more than the same survey in 2009. PC stats have increased as well, with PC makers like Dell and HP achieving higher stats, too: 77 points.
People love Macs. Remember that 10.7 is coming next year. Let’s have this survey again in 12 months. Read more
iPod Nano 6G Found To Have Secret Diagnostics Mode Dubbed “iTerm”
The guys over at iLounge have been doing a little digging into their new iPod nano and they have discovered that it contains a secret diagnostic mode called iTerm. If you fancy a peek, then you need to reset the iPod by pressing and holding the sleep and volume down buttons until the Apple logo appears. Once that happens, you have a choice. If you want to enable Disk mode, which will give you a retro iPod black and white screen, and, as the name suggests, makes the iPod visible to a computer as an external USB drive, you need to hold down both volume buttons during the reset. Apple Buys Face Recognition Company Polar Rose
Norwegian website Mac1 is reporting that Apple has bought all the shares of a Swedish company called “Polar Rose”, which specializes in face recognition softwares more advanced than Apple’s implementation in iPhoto.
As you can see in the video embedded below, the “Recognizr” app from Polar Rose can save face information in seconds and link a person to various social profiles on the internet such as Flickr and Youtube. It’s demoed on a Samsung phone, but we wonder (if true) what this acquisition might bring to our devices in the future. A more capable iPhoto? Perhaps that user tracking patent we heard about a few weeks ago? We’ll see. But I’m pretty sure that this is definitely mobile-oriented. [via 9to5mac] Read more
