It turns out that it’s pretty simple to add media to your .epub iBooks, and by “pretty simple” I mean the HTML5 <video> tag.

Skype for iPad Coming This Summer
According to Skype’s Asia-Pacific VP, Dan Neary, Skype will have a native iPad version of its client out by this summer. The app currently works in compatibility mode, but users are forced to run it in double-pixel or mini mode.
Neary also hints at the upcoming iPhone “HD” with front facing camera and a new iPad with enhanced communication capabilities:
“We believe that video is part of the Skype experience,” says the VP, “and we believe that video is moving aggressively into the mobile environment, so stay tuned on an announcement on that.
I think the iPad is an incredibly exciting product but it is clearly not the same communications device in its current form that the iPhone is,” he says. “So we’re looking forward to further advancements in the iPad and where that can go in the future.”

iMockups for iPad, Wireframing at the Nudge of a Finger
The boys over at Endloop have created somewhat of a mini miracle for web developers looking to quickly mockup projects while lounging on their favorite office furniture. It’s not everyday I actually trade in good ol’ paper and pencil for quick wireframing, but for the past week I’ve been using iMockups for my dirty deeds. Finger smudges abound and cups o’ coffee later, I laid the iPad on the table and scrolled through some of the various projects I cooked up, then satisfied, left to write a review.
An iPad, An Apple II And a Music Video
Panic rocks, even when it’s not about new applications coming out of their offices. They got an email two weeks ago, and they were asked to run the source of a text animation written for a music video on their (now popular) Apple IIe, just to see it if worked and take a few pictures. To do so, they had to load the source code into a “cassette deck”, which wasn’t available.
So what, give up? Nah, they just decided to use an iPad for that. Check out the Panic’s video here the original one after the break, it’s an impressive result.
Apple Posts New iPad Commercial - “What Is iPad”?
Apple has posted a brand new iPad commercial on its website, it’s called “What is iPad?”.
The commercial shows the iPad in different contexts (there’s even some guy carrying it on a motorbike) like piano lessons and meetings. It shows the usual Safari, Photos and Videos apps, together with a quick gallery of App Store applications.
“iPad is thin. iPad is beautiful.”

Audiotorium, Easy to use Audio and Text Recorder
There’s lots of applications on the iPad that allow you to take notes, record audio, and maybe do both. I think Evernote is a good example in this category, but let us not forget about a smaller contender by the name of Audiotorium. Quite simply, it’s just an easy to use note taking application that allows you to record audio, take notes, and add audio bookmarks. Oh, and it has lots of sweet icons packed in (more on that later).
