Apple has approved a lot of apps tonight, and this is one that immediately got our attention: NetNewsWire, the popular feeds reader application, is coming to the iPad. NNW for iPad will obviously sync with Google Reader, so you don’t have to worry for unread items between your Mac and iPhone) and will support 3rd party services like Twitter and Instapaper for saving articles. The application sports a darker interface, a darker icon - from what we’ve seen so far we like the interface.

USA TODAY for iPad: Looking Good

It showed up in the App Store a few minutes ago and in my opinion (from what I can see) it’s one of the most feature rich newspapers applications for the iPad. USA TODAY looks good and has a lot of functions, including offline reading and native photo galleries.

smartNote for iPad: A Notebook for your Fingers

One thing people want to achieve with the iPad is the freedom to take notes wherever they are, whether it be for class, business, or play. There’s going to be a lot of stiff competition in this area as developers try to feel out what works and what doesn’t, but smartNote for the iPad looks promising. It reminds me of a mix between Thoughts and Circus Ponies Notebook for the Mac.
