The Incident for iPad Is Coming To Your TV, With iPhone As A Controller [Update: Video]

We are big fans of The Incident by Big Bucket Software. Developed by Panic’s Neven Mrgan and Matt Comi, The Incident is a simple and addictive 16-bit styled game where you control a man named Frank who has to constantly jump and avoid obstacles falling from the sky. From our review:

As Frank, you’ll be climbing your way above and beyond mountains of just about anything that might fall from the sky. Couches, minivans, and propeller blades attempt to crush you under their fantastic weight; even with a little pushing and shoving, you’ll have quite the challenge in avoiding dangers from above and below.

Now, after a 1.2 update that brought game controlling from the iPhone, The Incident 1.3 will come to a TV near you. That’s right: you’ll be able to play an iOS game on your television (just like we always used to, remember?) using the iPhone as a remote controller. No technical details have been provided by the developers yet, except that all you need to get the thing up and running is “pluggin your iPad into the TV”. I guess it’s a standard VGA cable from Apple, anyway. Read more

So jump after the break, and enjoy a rough clip of today’s Steve Wozniak appearance at CBS’s Big Bang Theory, courtesy of MacRumors. Read more

Verizon to Stream Live TV to your iPad

Consider this: you’re watching only the most important football game between the Oakland Raiders and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2011 Superbowl. Your chicken-wing-sauce encrusted fingers clench as Stroughter penetrates the red zone. Jaws drop. A beer bottle passes hands into unknown territory. And just as the moment of disbelief strikes a cord with the goal line, a lamp shade is tossed through the center of the 30” plasma. Instinctively, you reach for the iPad tucked between the salsa bowl and the guacamole, launch the Verizon FiOS app, and within seconds, catch the touchdown of cosmic proportions while the TV is still reeling from your best friend’s misplaced wide-arm. Anything is possible with the new Verizon FIOS app for the iPad.

Apple Launches New iPad Commercial - “iPad is…”

Apple has just launched a new iPad TV commercial, featuring some 3rd party apps like Flipboard and Fruit Ninja HD and even Twitter.com while being used from the iPad.

The new commercial “iPad is” is all focused on contextual experiences based on the different purposes of the device. I think it’s very well done as it carries the message that, thanks to the App Store and Web, the iPad can do anything.

Check it out after the break.

ITV Executives Planning to Sue Apple Over Some Rumors

A few days ago Engadget posted a scoop about Apple’s plans for the upcoming new Apple TV: iOS integration, no 1080p support, new brand. According to Engadget, the new name should be “iTV” - which sounds pretty likely if you ask me, considering that Apple has recently put a lot of products under the “i-” prefix.

Now, there’s a very little problem. There’s a major UK broadcaster called “ITV” and its executives are getting furious over these Apple speculations and are planning to sue Steve Jobs and all his crew.
